CV, Artists system & business plan -
Startup donut is a site that helps business's start up, by giving them tools and techniques. This site is run in the way of the site asks for a business plan and then decides if they will give help too the person.
GOV.uk has helped people with business plans, but this site is not really aimed towards the creative community where as Startup donut is more aware of the creative community.
Creative report has facts and figures to help gets information together for going to places to help get money to start the business.
Section 1 of the business plan -
Nature of the business - What are you really selling?
What you doing?
Looking at significant trends things like moving image. Look at what is happening in the market and what you are gonna do to become part of that market.
Section 2 & 3 -Business ideas and more - Market and competition -
A good way to start is to make a list of all the things you could do too live compatibly before you start the career path you have chosen. Need to think about what you would want to be as a business. When working on the business plan it would work too have your experiences, pre training and education. Remember not to repeat things!
How can you be different? Remember to look at your competitors and think of how to counteract the competition.
Where do you fit in, in the industry and what type of people or other business's are your customers (Local, Regional, Overseas?).
Important things to think about-
SWOT:
Strength
Weakness
Opportunity
Threat
Think how you can make things from negative (Weakness, Threat) to the positive (Strength, Opportunity).
USP - Unique Selling Point.
ESP - Emotional Selling Point
Cash Flow Forcast -
A cash flow forcast will help you to try and predict what you can make. If needed you can add your own columns with other things for example I would add columns to do with illustrations.
Can also put in part time work in the survival budget section.
