Iceolation

‘Iceolation’ is a project where I wanted to use floral objects encased in ice to explore ideas of alienation, as well as a belief in hidden beauty. The object is there to represent many things: beauty, feelings, memories. The use of ice is to help suggest how people are unable to escape exclusion. I chose to use blocks of ice and let them melt as shooting the work to suggest the mechanistic shape of the working world, unchanged, boring, predictable.  The work is made abstract but still to be representing the imprisonment of a soul, to reflect different periods in my personal life. I chose to use macrophotography to help create these images giving me more detail in the prints.

How I had it displayed!

I had a larger scale print of one of my photo etching made to hang in the window on light paper to allow light to enhance the print, then placed my three dries herbs on the space near the window. Along with two original etchings I made as well. (This was using the space given to me if I have no restrains I would of included the photographic images as well)
